Position Paper Guidelines:
*A position paper must be submitted to the chair for a delegate to be eligible for awards.
Position Papers should be one to two pages in length per topic, resulting in a two to four page paper. They should include a background of the topic, your country's position on the topic, and proposed solutions. Delegates must cover both topics in their position papers separately.
Position Papers should include:

General background on the topic

Previous treaties and/or resolutions by the UN

Your country's position and actions it has taken to address the topic before

How the issue affects your country

What your country would like to focus on and why
Formatting:

Include the country name, school, and delegate names at the top of the paper.

Do not use personal pronouns throughout the paper

Make sure to cite sources

Sources can be cited through footnotes or a works cited page at the end of the paper

Printing may not be available at the school for non Loudoun Valley High School/Loudoun County residents so be sure to print position papers and any research before hand.
